The London Cat Clinic’s new emergency care service

Our team at The London Cat Clinic are excited to announce that from 7th June 2021, we will be providing all of our own emergency and out-of-hours care services. This means that all of your feline friend’s veterinary treatment will be provided by the experienced, caring and highly qualified team members you know - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

This in-house emergency service will complement our extended weekday opening hours and new weekend appointments, so no matter what time of day or night your cat (or you) needs us, we are here. If you just need out-of-hours vet advice, we’re always here so give us a call.

How to access these services

All registered clients will be able to access veterinary care at The London Cat Clinic 24 hours a day.

Phone us for an emergency appointment

Routine appointments during normal clinic opening hours can be booked on-line or by calling the practice as now. In the event of an emergency, either during our new extended hours (below) or outside these hours, please telephone our practice to arrange an appointment on 0203 7401 112.

  • Monday to Friday – 8.30am to 8.00pm
  • Saturday – 9.00am to 6.00pm
  • Sundays and Bank Holidays – 9.00am to 4.00pm

We will then organise for your cat to be triaged by our veterinary team, so they can be given the veterinary care they require. Unfortunately, we cannot accept emergency out of hours walk-in appointments for security reasons in any circumstances, so you must phone the clinic before arriving.

Can I use your emergency vet services if my cat is not registered with The London Cat Clinic?

If your cat is not already registered with another veterinary practice, you can register and use our service for urgent treatment. If you are already registered with another veterinary practice, we need to direct you back to their out-of-hours service where arrangements already exist, unless our team determine that the severity of the emergency is such that we are the closest emergency service. In these cases, our Emergency Treatment and Hospitalisation Policy below applies:

“If we have seen your cat in an emergency and/or have hospitalised them but we aren’t your normal veterinary practice, once the patient is stable, we will send them back to your usual veterinary practice. It isn't possible to transfer your cat's ongoing routine care to The London Cat Clinic due to our professional obligations to our colleagues.

How these changes will benefit our registered clients

By providing all of our own emergency and out-of-hours care services, you and your feline friend will be able to benefit in many ways.

No need to travel to an unfamiliar practice

For any cat custodian, seeing them unwell is a stressful and worrying time. This can be made worse if your cat needs to travel to an unfamiliar veterinary practice for emergency treatment. Your cat will often need to travel back to our clinic the following day to continue treatment, which can cause additional and sometimes unnecessary stress for your beloved cat.

By providing our own emergency vet services, we can prevent the need for any unnecessary travel by now providing the opportunity to see your cat 24 hours a day at The London Cat Clinic. Our experienced team will care for your cat from admission through to discharge, no matter what time of the day or night.

We can provide your cat with continuity of care

When you are worried about your cat because they have become unwell or injured, it can be reassuring to see a familiar face taking care of them. Our experienced cat-focused team will always be taking care of your feline friend throughout their treatment, guaranteeing continuity of care for all of our clients.

We also have instant access to your cat’s medical records, enabling us to ensure they are provided with optimal treatment throughout the duration of their illness.

Your cat will be treated by our experienced cat friendly team

By providing our own emergency services, we can ensure that our experienced cat-friendly veterinary team will be providing all veterinary care for our clients and your cats 24 hours a day. Our team of Veterinary Surgeons and Veterinary Nurses share many advanced feline medicine qualifications, so you can be confident that your cat will be provided with the very best level of care at all times.

We will provide continued access to our award-winning cat friendly services

When your cat is treated by our veterinary team outside of our clinic’s normal hours, your cat will still be provided with access to all of our ISFM Gold Standard facilities. This includes our specially designed consulting rooms, our comfortable cat ward, and access to our full range of diagnostic equipment, enabling us to provide every patient with the best level of care 24 hours a day.

Our Cat Friendly Facilities

We have built our veterinary clinic with our patients and their unique needs in mind, to make your cat’s visit less stressful. Our cat friendly practice also offers an experienced veterinary team and Gold Standard veterinary facilities to ensure that your cat gets the best treatment at every visit.

Specially designed consulting rooms

To ensure your cat is comfortable during their appointment and to enable our vets to assess your cat thoroughly, our consulting rooms have several cat friendly features.

Consults are taken at your cat’s pace and our consult rooms are perfect for visiting your cat if they need to stay with us.

A comfortable cat ward for patients who need to stay with us

Your cat will be able to settle in our cat ward if they are visiting us for a day procedure or if they are admitted out of hours.
